What to do in New Harbor and Bristol
Hardy Boat Cruises - Seal watching, coastal tours, and Monhegan Island Ferry
Monhegan Island - Take the Hardy Boat to Monhegan for hiking, local artwork, beaches full of sea-glass, and the Monhegan Brewery. This is a must do!
Visit the Pemaquid Lighthouse - There’s a small museum and good breakfast at the Seagull Restaurant on the water
Pemaquid Beach - Great beach with new facilities
Eat local lobster from one of the co-ops - Shaws Fish & Lobster Wharf is our personal favorite and is right in New Harbor
Damariscotta River Boat Cruises: Oyster farm & fall foliage tour
Tidepooling at the Rachael Carson Salt Pond Preserve
Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site: fort & park with views of the water and a small museum inside
Round Pond - Granite Hall Store (great store for candy, ice cream, and kids' toys) and The Anchor Restaurant
Wiscasset - Lovely town with various shops and Red’s Eats (Home of the world’s #1 lobster roll). If you want to eat at Red’s be warned that there can be long lines. (~ 30 minute drive)
Montsweag Flea Market (Saturdays & Wednesdays 6am-2pm): great for antiques from the area! (~ 40 minute drive)
The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens – a day trip with at least an hour’s drive but beautiful facilities with wonderful exhibits and hikes

Thompson Cottages
Rent an apartment or room in New Harbor by the night, or a seaside cottage by the week. Week rentals are Saturday - Saturday.
Gosnold Arms Inn
Rent a room at the Inn Next to Shaw’s Wharf or an entire cottage on site. The Inn is 5 minute drive from Hillcrest Farm (our wedding venue).
The Bradley Inn
The Bradley is a 7 minute drive from New Harbor and Back Cove but can be booked nightly. They often have live piano playing at the bar and this is a nice spot to have appetisers and a drink even if you’re not staying here.
